2 DAY SUB ALPINE - EAST KIEWA PACK TRIP

A short break in the beautiful East Kiewa. Ride through tall Mountain forrests, ferny gullies and camp above the banks of Bogong Creek. With Mt Bogong's Granite Flat rising steeply behind camp, this is the perfect weekend escape. Pack your Bathers for a swim at Ropers.

One with the lot, including a rest day in a high mountain camp and featuring Young's Tops, the mountain home of the brumbies, Mount Fainter Range, Bogong Jack's hideout, Tawonga Huts, Pretty Valley and a traverse of Victoria’s highest mountain, Mount Bogong. Following tracks cut into mountain sides over 100 years ago, in search of gold and cattle grazing, our packhorses take you on a true heritage experience.

4 DAY HIGH COUNTRY RIDE FALLS CREEK TO SRING SPUR

Duration: 4 Days

Cost: $1600

Get a little saddle grease on your trouser seat and join this 4 day Packhorse Adventure. Taking our horses back down from the high plains to their home paddock at Spring Spur. Starring from the Yards at Falls Creek, this ride takes in Fitzgeralds and kellys Hut, Wild Horse Plain, Big River, Glen Wills and Mount Bogong.  Meet at Spring Spur for breakfast and we will arrange transport to the Falls Creek horse yards mid morning for a ride not to be missed.

Spend five days in the mountain home of the brumbies, observing the behaviour of the herd in its natural environment. This helps form the foundation of our horsemanship skills. We will be focusing on skills associated with using packhorses in mountain country and camping with horses in remote environments.This ride will include Pretty Valley, Youngs Tops and Mt Fainter.

All rides from our stables at Spring Spur, Mountain Creek Rd - Tawonga Map


These rides feature access into remote mountain areas and itineraries and routes may be changed without notice due to severe environmental and weather events.


All rides include meals, horses, saddlery, guides, group camping equipment (for camping rides), first-aid, mobile phone contact, National Park fees and 4WD backup where appropriate.
